EILEEN GILLAN'S BIOGRAPHY

In 20 years as a marketing and public relations professional, Eileen Gillan has successfully managed marketing and public relations for multi-million dollar organizations, managed media events resulting in statewide and national media coverage, developed strategic marketing and public relations plans, trained executives as media spokespersons, facilitated strategic planning retreats, and produced dozens of exciting special events. She founded Eileen Gillan and Associates in 1995.

A popular speaker and facilitator, Eileen Gillan has developed and presented seminars, workshops and speeches on marketing, public relations, and fundraising for groups including National Shared Housing Resource Center; Food Research and Action Center, Washington, DC; Statewide Emergency Network for Social and Economic Security (SENSES), New York; Maryland Association of Nonprofit Organizations; Maryland Home Based Business Association; Maryland Food Bank Network; American Marketing Association, Baltimore Chapter; and Media Roundtable, Baltimore. She recently participated in a panel on independent public relations practitioners for the Public Relations Society of America, Maryland Chapter.

Eileen Gillan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications from Towson University and a Masters degree in business from Johns Hopkins University School of Continuing Studies. She completed focus group training through the RIVA Institute in Washington, D.C., and coursework in strategic marketing research through the Burke Institute for Applied Market Research in Cincinnati, Ohio. She has served in leadership positions on the boards of the American Marketing Association, Downtown Baltimore Child Care, Pumpkin Theatre, and the Park School Parents Association. She is currently serving as vice president of the Independent Public Relations Collaborative.
